What you'll do
- Own end-to-end field operations for test and deployment campaigns based in the Austin, Texas area
- Manage logistics for equipment, components, and personnel moving between facilities, vendors, and field/test sites
- Oversee sub-assembly integration activities, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure components arrive complete, on schedule, and ready for field build-up
- Lead the permitting process for field sites and operations, including managing relationships with local authorities, landowners, and regulatory bodies
- Build and manage a local field operations team (technicians, logistics coordinators, site personnel)
- Establish and maintain HSE (health, safety, environment) protocols for all field and site activities
- Manage relationships with local vendors, contractors, and service providers in the Texas area
- Coordinate scheduling and resourcing for field test campaigns in partnership with engineering leadership
- Maintain site readiness — facilities, equipment staging, transport logistics — ahead of test and operational milestones
- Serve as the primary on-the-ground point of contact for site visits from engineering, leadership, and partners
What you bring
- Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in field operations, logistics, or site management, ideally within energy, oil & gas, construction, or another complex industrial field environment
- Demonstrated experience managing permits and regulatory processes for field or site operations in Texas
- Strong track record coordinating logistics and integration across multiple teams, vendors, and locations
- Experience building and leading field-based operational teams
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements for industrial or oilfield-type operations
- Excellent organizational and cross-functional communication skills
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Austin, Texas area
- Comfortable with regular on-site presence and periodic travel to field/test locations within Texas
Preferred, not required
- Experience in oilfield services, drilling operations, or energy infrastructure
- Familiarity with Texas-specific permitting bodies and regulatory processes (state and local)
- Experience supporting field test campaigns for early-stage or prototype hardware
